Its professional baseball league is named after the legendary player Roberto Clemente, officially known as the Liga de BΓ©isbol Profesional Roberto Clemente.
The Venezuelan manager Omar LΓ³pez, who led Venezuela national baseball team to victory in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, is also the manager of the historic Cangrejeros de Santurce in the LBPRC, where he has led the club to a championship as well.
Santurce also has a unique connection to global music and sports culture. One of the teamβs co-owners is the reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee, famous for the worldwide hit Despacito, which has more than 8.9 billion views on YouTube.
Interestingly, Santurce is also the name of a basketball team. One of the basketball teamβs co-owners is global music star Bad Bunny, who performed at the halftime show of the Super Bowl LVII.
